Afilan is a centrally acting drug used for the treatment of mild, moderate or severe obesity. This drug can also be prescribed to people with overweight (BMI over 27) with one or more risk factors – type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol or hypertension.

Afilan tablets contain 2 mg of active pharmaceutical ingredient Mazindol, as well as several excipients. Mazindol stimulates the central nervous system, suppresses appetite and helps comfortably to reduce daily calorie intake.

The recommended daily dosage is an Afilan tablet once daily.

Afilan increases blood flow, can cause insomnia, therefore the tablets are better to take in the morning.

Exceeding the recommended dosage of Afilan does not increase the effectiveness of obesity treatment, but can cause side effects – sweating, headache, dizziness, increased blood pressure, irritability, weakness and fatigue.

The likelihood of side effects occurrence should not be a reason for refusal from medical treatment of obesity. In most cases, the side effects of Afilan (Mazindol) 2mg pills are mild or moderate and disappear on their own after a short time.

The manufacturer of Afilan is Eurofarma company.

The drug comes in blister packages, in cartons of 30 tablets. Just as any other slimming pills, Afilan should be stored in branded packaging away from moisture and sunlight.
